Have 7 month old Maytag washer. Called 'authorized' Maytag service company, based on strange noise during wash cycle.
After 2 service calls, it was determined that the transmission was failing. 3rd call determined that in order to repair the transmission, the agitator had to be removed and would require a new replacement for this part, in addition to all the other parts already ordered. The 4th service call was terminated, when it was determined that the service company had received the wrong agitator. An expedited order for the correct part, resulted in the wrong part being delivered, for the 2nd time!!
5th service call now on indefinite hold.
Frustrated, I contacted Maytag, directly.
Carried on a 45 minute chat, the result of which was, paraphrasing, we can't help you with your problem. Essentially, I'll just have to wait, with no operating washer, until the repair service fixes your machine.
This episode does not speak well for Maytag 'customer support'.
