Possible recall
Maytag service rep just left and told me our door on side by side needed replaced. (@$1000) Reason: heater open in door, waterline frozen in door.
Model: MSS25C4MGZ06. Apparently this is a common problem. Refrigerator was purchased in March 2023.

Verified ReviewerResolved: Maytag washer purchased January 2025. Customer service con not fix and refuse reimbursement
Company fixed the issue and I have been provided with product replacement. After everything I previously stated had occurred and contacting the BBB, my issue has been resolved with a replacement of a washing machine of my choice, not to exceed a set price that I agreed with. Hopefully the new washer will do as it should.
So, two more service techs have come out. The first one did a diagnostic with an engineer on the phone and nothing was resolved other than sending another tech out that replaced the motor.
When replacing the motor he pointed out black mold inside the agitator stating that "It's common" (see attached picture) of what I don't think should be "common". Especially in a 8 month old washer. I filed a report with BBB.
A representative call when the report was received by maytag and she offered to replace the washer with the same, if the last repair didn't work. I will call her back tomorrow and tell her nothing will be satisfactory other than a refund of my money because this is truly a bad quality product.
Neither fix fixed the multiple issues (water not draining, soap stained clothes, ripped clothes). Just reached back out to customer service to demand a refund.
They stated the warranty excludes them from refunds, and basically I'm stuck with a $600 piece of scrap medal. This is unacceptable, and I will now be reporting them to everyone I can.

Washing machine burned my house and killed my dog!
Don't waste your time here.get a lawyer. Absolutely terrible what's happening to my family.
We are homeless and lost everything including our 12 year old dog to a fire caused from a washer.they won't do anything. They claim it's to long even though they have not tried to investigate anything or to listen.
I had no insurance unfortunately.
Now we sre homeless. This was my lifes savings and all my memories and pictures and things are gone.with my hopes and dreams.theres no help for us .id like some compensation for this unfortunate event,id like my house fixed and new items.and i have been through enough over all this so please lets not have to get lawyer's and all that court crap in on this.please just do the right thing and fix this ?im begging you,im losing my son now to his father if i don't hurry and figure out a place for us to go.i cannot bear the pain of this on top of losing everything and my beloved dog that was like my family thank you joann caraway 214* ***th street fort dodge iowa 50501 my number is 515269****

I've replaced the main board because it went out 2 years after I bought it. I've put 3 to 4 water valves on it and a lid lock switch, over $400 in parts alone.
I just want a real economy washer. This thing is trash. I promise you nothing but problems since day one.
Water valve issues weren't filling up near halfway. There's nothing smart about this POS.

Lemon washing machine
Maytag is still servicing this washer that hasn't worked since August 2025. They will now replace the gearbox.
Waiting on parts! This machine should be considered a loss
I purchased a Maytag washer in November 2024. Since purchasing I've had suspension rods, belt, clutch and motor replaced and still makes high screeching sound on wash cycle.
My washer has been broken since August 25th and still cant get a refund on my machine. I've had to purchase a different washer because I just could not mentally keep going to the laundromat.
I've called customer service numerous times to complain about Platinum Factory services and beg for a refund and NOTHING. Don't buy the Maytag # MVW4505MW

Purchased a Maytag washer and dryer in April 2024. In August 2025, the washer broke.
I got it repaired, and three weeks later, the same issue occurred.
I paid too much for that, and it did not last at least two years. Now I am out of a washer and money.

We bought our washer within a few months; it quit working, then got it repaired. Then, within two months of having it repaired, it went out again; the shocks and tub went out.
I ordered the parts, which took 2 1/2 months to get. The technician fixed it in March of 2025, and now we are in July, and it went out again with the same problem. The washer is not even a year old. In total, we have only used it maybe 4 months.
We will never buy from Maytag or even recommend anyone to buy from them. We are having to spend $60 a week at the laundromat every week for a washer and dryer when I should be able to wash and dry at home with our so-called appliances.
So yes, it makes me mad. I wish they could just give me a full refund or even a new washer.

After approx 1.5 yrs, with very LIGHT use, this washing machine is breaking down. 1st, the pump clogged with a "piece of black plastic" that I have NO IDEA where it came from; certainly not my clothes.
Secondly, the lid locking mechanism won't function, which makes the machine not function; it will not enter any cycle without lid lock functioning. Upon searching DIY videos to help diagnose and possibly do DIY repair, I found literally HUNDREDS & HUNDREDS of videos of failed Maytag washers, all less than 5 yrs old, & many, like mine, practically brand new. THIS SHOULD HAVE BEEN A RECALL.
MAYTAG IS SELLING JUNK MACHINES FOR PEOPLE'S HARD EARNED MONEY! NEVER AGAIN WILL I PURCHASE MAYTAG PRODUCTS.

We bought a brand new Maytag washer a few years ago from Home Depot in Branson, MO. Even bought the extended warranty.
Shortly after buying it, it began to make an awful noise. Called the warranty people; they eventually sent a tech to look at it. He said it was making a noise he had never heard before. Didn't know what that meant, but he took it apart and said he'd have to order parts that would take about a month.
We could go ahead and use the washer. A month went by, no call, so we called them. No response. Called many times since.
Long story short, it's been several years now, never a response! In short, do not buy Maytag products. The warranty is a joke.
They do not care about customers. They are liars and thieves; they get your money, then it's goodbye, stupid!

Defective Maytag washer
I purchased a Maytag washer in 2020 within two years. The entire top of the machine under the lid is completely rusted where you pour the detergent and fabric softener.
There are no replacement parts and Maytag wants me to spend money on a trade-in for a smaller machine.
This is an unethical company theyre calling rust cosmetic. Meanwhile their executives are floating on their yachts smoking $100 cigars.

Inferior products bogus warranty
I spent $1300 on a 7 ft.³ washer that is full of rust. Theyre calling it cosmetic and the parts are unavailable for replacement either. Meanwhile, the executive makeover 10 million a year and salary and bonuses on the backs of their unsuspecting customers.

It has NEVER WORKED A SINGLE TIME! I immediately reported the issue, but it took them TWO FULL WEEKS just to send a technician. Now it's March 11th - that's over THREE WEEKS without a functioning washer that I PAID GOOD MONEY FOR!The worst part? I have a NEWBORN BABY at home with sensitive skin, forcing me to drive 45 MINUTES EACH WAY to a laundromat multiple times a week just to wash my baby's clothes!
Despite purchasing a 5-YEAR WARRANTY, Maytag REFUSES to exchange this defective machine for a working one.Today's experience was the final straw. I was put on hold for 2 HOURS AND 7 MINUTES only to be HUNG UP ON! When I finally reached someone named Precious from their service department, she was RUDE, DISMISSIVE, and had the audacity to tell me they "can't do anything to help" because it's been "over 3 weeks." ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! The washer has NEVER WORKED, and the delay in service was ENTIRELY THEIR FAULT!Every time I call, I'm put on endless holds while they show ZERO CONCERN for my situation.
I spent THOUSANDS on a washer/dryer set, and their solution is to DO ABSOLUTELY NOTHING?!SAVE YOURSELF THE HEADACHE AND HEARTBREAK! If you make the mistake of buying from Maytag/Whirlpool, PRAY your appliance works perfectly because if it doesn't, you'll be STUCK with an expensive paperweight and treated like you're the problem!WORST.
