After several email exchanges and several phone calls, Maytag refused to help me with the cost of repairing or replacing the dishwasher. Nothing new since I wrote my review.

I bought a Maytag dishwasher model MDB8959SAS1 in 2013. To date (2020) it has had three breakdowns, the last two barely a year apart.
Last time the repairs cost upwards of $400, and the DW is showing the exact same symptoms now. Maytag refuses to pay for repairs or exchange the unit because the DW is too old. And it took me four weeks to get that verdict from customer service despite repeated emails and phone calls. With the last phone call, I was on hold for 55 minutes before getting a human on the line.
Id received an email telling me that my case had been forwarded to the product exchange team, but two weeks later I was told on the phone that there was no record of that.
Meanwhile Ive had to wash our Thanksgiving dishes and many others by hand. (I am disabled and this is a strain for me.) I will never buy a Maytag appliance again!
User's recommendation: DON'T Buy a Maytag Dishwasher.
Monetary Loss: $700.
Preferred solution: Let the company propose a solution.
Maytag Cons: Poor customer service, Poor reliability.
