We recently purchased a home and bought the Maytag MSB26C6MDM Side-by-Side Refrigerator in October($1000). We moved into our new home in January and the merchandise was unboxed on 1/1/2017.

Within 24 hours it stopped freezing. We lost over $500 in food and medication. I called Maytag at 1-80*-344-**** and was shocked and dismayed at the level of service that was provided. Rep 1, advised there was nothing she could do but we needed to wait until the 17th for repair, however, she would have us placed on the cancellation list.

I asked for the repair to be expedited due to the damages; she placed me on hold for 7 minutes only to return and say, she couldn't reach anyone at the repair company but offered to give me the number to call them directly. (870-633-**** Brown's Repair Service). I called and spoke with Stephanie, the receptionist, who advised that no one from Maytag called her, furthermore, they would not have scheduled an appointment for this area on Tuesday because they only come on Wednesdays. At this point I am infuriated, I immediately asked for a manager.

After speaking with Letika, she offered a $125.00 Visa gift card for the lost food and reassured that everything would be resolved on the 17th. Although the repair company said the 18th is the earliest they would come, she said the information was incorrect and she confirmed the 17th; before ending the called, she emailed me a claim form to list our damages stating that they would take care of them. Fast forward to 1/18/2017, the day of the repair not the 17th, I stayed home from work FOR NOTHING! The repairman showed up only to say, he doesnt know whats wrong, it started to cool off but within minutes; its warm and it smells atrocious from the bloody spoiled food.

This gorgeous refrigerator is now in many pieces under the carport and as he attempts to put it back together he says, If I were you Id call and let them have it; this is obviously a lemon. I dont even know what parts to order for it. I called customer service and spoke with Brandy who advised that there is nothing else to do now but order parts AFTER I TOLD HER HE SAID THERE ARE NO PARTS TO ORDER, its A LEMON! I demanded a manager and spoke with TASHANDA who gave me her number at 269-759-**** and advised she would call me the next day 1/19/2017 after she got the repairman notes but it would be 21 days or more even if they considered getting me another refrigerator.

I HAVE NOT RECEIVED A CALL FROM HER AND WHEN I CALL THE NUMBER, I AM SENT TO VOICEMAIL. Today is 6/23/16, I have replaced my carpet twice from being drenched in water from this refrigerator. Its a nightmare. I have called over 30 times since I have had this there still isn't a resolution but to turn it off for 24 hours.

It will work for a while and then it is down again. Now I have to replace cabinets because the bottoms are totally discolored and there is an odor. This is unacceptable. The repairman states that he came back to my home on 1/27 but I never saw him.

I called Maytag to find out why he had come to my home and I was not aware and they told me that it was under the carport, he didn't need to have anyone home but he was ordering parts and would be back next Wednesday. Last year, we spent $40,000.00 in Maytag/Whirlpool merchandise for rental properties we renovated. I am beyond flustered in my brand new home. My house wreaks, and we are using the neighbors freezer and a small cooler to chill food and insulin.

I am having to go rent a new refrigerator to store food and medicine. This is a huge inconvenience. I do not want this refrigerator! Who would want something that is suppose to be brand new, that obvious has a manufactures defect, have someone trying to repair it?

I want a new refrigerator; I want to be reimbursed for the rental that I have to get until MAYTAG accepts responsibility, and I want to reimbursed for the food that I lost over and over again.

Reason of review: Bad quality.

Monetary Loss: $2500.

Preferred solution: A NEW REFRIGERATOR OR FULL REFUND.
