Power went out, and broke dryer a few months past the end of the warranty. I discovered that this is a well-documented problem online.
The maytag rep on the phone referred to them as "just people on the internet" so they are aware that there is a problem, but have taken no steps to fix it, nor do they offer any concessions to people with this problem.
It was going to be $200 to have somebody come look at it, with no guarantee that it wouldn't happen again, OR EVEN GET FIXED AT ALL (the cost was just for them to come take a look at it and fix it if they could). Never buying maytag again.
Monetary Loss: $675.
