We bought a new Maytag Bravos XL dryer MEDB835DW3. When it breaks you will not be able to get service for weeks upon weeks.

Do not buy Maytag. The company was bought by Whirlpool in 2006 and that is when this brand and Whrilpool when downhill. They cheapened all products for more corporate profit and do not care about the consumer. Dryer was $1000 product.

The dryer is completely dead and will not power up at all after only eight months. Everyone at the local parts house to the local electrician says do not buy these with electronic controls. People are going through four sets in 10 years. The electronic board and controls are one part W10849057.

The part is $475 or half as much as the entire dryer. Factory warranty or an extended are no good if there is NO WARRANTY SERVICER IN YOUR AREA! They told us it would be months before the repair could be made. They want to force you to throw it away and go buy a new one just so you can do laundry.

THIS IS MASSIVE FRAUD. The Lowes building supply will not replace. Maytag will not replace the machine unless not repairable. There are fewer and fewer service people for these because of the company not paying them anything for their work under warranty.

The parts are as much as a dryer. Buy a better brand like SPEED QUEEN. This is the worst experience ever with Whrilpool Maytag.

Never again. Their warranties are worthless!
