After numerous calls and hours wasted with MAYTAG customer DIS-SERVICE, MAYTAG has chosen NOT TO STAND BY THIS PRODUCT. We have, literally, gone down to using only 1 teaspoon of detergent yet detergent reside and excessive lint still can be found on our clothes.
The one shining bright spot in this whole episode may be that our HOME DEPOT manager has said he will allow us to to exchange the *** MAYTAG WASHER for a different brand. I'll follow up on that Monday.

No matter what we do, or what smaller amounts of the new and more expensive 'he' detergent we utilize, our clothes come out with white residue and far more lint than we have ever experienced. My wife, who has washed clothes for more than 60 years, is at her wits end with this new Maytag washer.
This new Maytag washer has been looked at by two Maytag-certified technicians. Independently, they found nothing wrong with the Maytag washer as far as it being broken or out of specification but see the evidence of white residue and excessive lint on our newly washed clothes.
A core problem is with the settings of this Maytag washer is that even when on the 'Deep-Fill' selection not enough water is introduced to dilute the 'he' detergent or adequately soak, clean, and rinse the clothes at any cycle setting. There just is not enough water used. So now we have to wash each batch of clothes a second or third time with no detergent at all. Ridiculous!
Karen, the Maytag Customer Service representative, was very professional and expressed sincere empathy about our situation. She is sending us a special cleaner out as a one-time sanitizer for the Maytag washer.
Not to be a doubting Thomas, but that won't work nor does it address the lint problem. If the problem is not resolved, they will have to send a Maytag technician here for the third time.
