Purchaes Maytag Washing Machine - came with 10 yr transmission warranty

Had problem - called Maytag - they sent Service Man - $105 for coming.

Listened to noise from machine - said to me needs new transmission

Told him it was under warranty - he said Maytag will send them new transmission in 3-4 days

It would be another $105 for coming to house and another $400 in labor to fix - total

cost approx $610

Cost to repair under "Warranty" will be more than a new machine

Told him to forget and I will buy a new one

When Maytag states 10 yr warranty - instead of saying "customer pays labor" They should give

estimated cost in Warranty so Customer can decide what to do BEFORE spending the original

Warranty means absolutely nothing when you pay the high labor costs. It makes you think you are getting something of value. Not!!
