Maytag translates into pricetag, don't buy!

Maytag complaint by Tech
Bought a Maytag Neptune TL washer model #FAV6800AWW less than four years ago for $1,000 thinking I was buy quality. Now I have to replace all of the bearing and guts for the lowwer unit at my cost because maytag won't do anything accept replace the motor. Motor is still working fine, imagine that! I own three Maytag poducts and have had trouble with ALL OF THEM. When I called Maytag I was told they would give me 15% off of my next maytag purchase. The way I see it I paid more than $250.00 a year for this washer, add another $100 or so to it and I could have bought a new so called cheap washer that would have lasted four years each.DO NOT BUY MAYTAG/WHIRLPOOL products.

Do you realize you said the appliance is 4 yrs old. It is out of the warr and you knew it only had a 1 yr warr when you purchased it. Ever think about an Ext Warr for it? They arent expensive..They are man made appliances and it happens. But no matter if it was Maytag, it could have also happened with an appliance from another manufacturer. At least Maytag is trying to offer some help..
