renovated my kitchen 3 years ago, decided on purchasing new appliances which included refrig, dishwasher, micro, range, washer and dryer all maytag, of course they were always known for dependability, NOT! what happened to this AMERICAN product. in the last 3 years I have had my refrig ( MFI2266AES ) serviced 4 times for the same problem. Each time servicing has been a nightmare at the hands of AE service, Preway service and of course at the helm of my nightmare Maytag Customer service. The first mistake I made was purchasing Maytag products follwed by the second mistake purchasing maytag service contracts". I now have a refrig that is not working, waiting on parts since end of august when I callled Maytag cust serv they confirmed the parts were not available and recommended I GO ONLINE AND TRY TO FIND THE PART! This added insult to injury/. Today Preway finally came to install my parts and upon Techs arrival he opens the part box and realizes he ordered an ICE TRAY COVER! when he should have ordered an Interface Control Board?. Maytag continues to have their products serviced by incompetent companies and appears to have no interest in keeping you as a customer after you purchase, what ever happen to the DEPENDABILITY PEOPLE? Maytag had built their reputation on reliable products and dependable service, what happened to this American Made appliance!. Here is a prime example of what happened, and why companies like LG and Samsung are gaining more and more customers everyday,. The best advice I can give someone is Avoid Maytag/. By the way forgot to mention I have 2 small children ages 3 and 4 and Maytag is not concerned about How I would provide food for them with a refrig that does not work|. Shame!

This is not what I expected from what I thought was a reliable company|.

Maytag in past years were Rock of Gibraltar,I've got(5) units of theirs that have been excellent, but as anything goes cars,

appliances, people in general monday or friday

built items usually are problematic. But also bare in mind that when a competor buys you out

as did happen then usually you are doing such a good job, that they want to put a Halt to so you can no longer be a major threat to them.go figure

Keep buying at the big box stores! save 10 bucks put a caring small business under, give them complete control of the appliance industry and watch the good will burn to the ground. Don't you guys get it? The big Box stores caused this with thier demand for low prices *** the quality! And By the way call up LG and Samsung and try to get a part before you throw that money in the garbage as well, they offer no local or regional service, no parts distribution, nothing, oh yeah thats if they know what to do when you call the 800 number. One other point Maytag and most appliance manufactures buy parts from the same vendors thats why they all fail. Buyer beware, consumer get wise

What do you expect from a whirlpool product with a maytag name on it?

A whirlpool rep once told me about 15-18 years ago that they wanted their products to last no more than 5 years. This was shortly after their washers & dryers stopped lasting 20 to25 years.

With you brother and feel the pain of Maytag! Whirlpool is riding the historic Maytag quality and just cashing checks until the game is up. With great sadness, I will buy foreign in the future.

Dana nailed the problem right on. Maytag is no longer a Company but merely a brand of Whirlpool Corporation so when you buy a Maytag, you are not buying a heritage Maytag product but a Whirlpool Product with a Maytag label on it. Pretty sad that another American icon was destroyed by Corporate greed.

I have experienced the same problems with Maytag. My husband had to have them (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave). The problem is the company has changed hands. Also they made their name with a very small washer years ago which worked very well bc it couldn't be overloaded. Times have changed and I would not recommend these products to anybody. I have had problems.from every Maytag appliance I own.

I'm disappointed and a little surprised to hear this. I have a Maytag stove that is over 10 years old and honestly still works and looks like new. I did have to put a new igniter in the oven 2 or 3 years ago.

Jad a may tag refrigerator and the ice maker went out before the first year. Had a may tag dishwasher it also messed up not sure what was wrong with it. Had a may rage washer and dryer and repairman fixed the washer once and dryer twice the lid switch kept going bad. I will never ever own another may tag product even if it was free.
