Written by Ernie Mott on February 7, 2012 from san antonio, texas, US Maytag in past years were Rock of Gibraltar,I've got(5) units of theirs that have been excellent, but as anything goes cars, appliances, people in general monday or friday built items usually are problematic. But also bare in mind that when a competor buys you out as did happen then usually you are doing such a good job, that they want to put a Halt to so you can no longer be a major threat to them.go figure |

3. Written by Dan the appliance man on December 15, 2011 from burbank, illinois, US Keep buying at the big box stores! save 10 bucks put a caring small business under, give them complete control of the appliance industry and watch the good will burn to the ground. Don't you guys get it? The big Box stores caused this with thier demand for low prices *** the quality! And By the way call up LG and Samsung and try to get a part before you throw that money in the garbage as well, they offer no local or regional service, no parts distribution, nothing, oh yeah thats if they know what to do when you call the 800 number. One other point Maytag and most appliance manufactures buy parts from the same vendors thats why they all fail. Buyer beware, consumer get wise
4. Written by Albert Setera on December 6, 2011 from calgary, alberta, CA What do you expect from a whirlpool product with a maytag name on it? A whirlpool rep once told me about 15-18 years ago that they wanted their products to last no more than 5 years. This was shortly after their washers & dryers stopped lasting 20 to25 years.
5. Written by mike on December 3, 2011 from cleveland, ohio, US With you brother and feel the pain of Maytag! Whirlpool is riding the historic Maytag quality and just cashing checks until the game is up. With great sadness, I will buy foreign in the future.
6. Written by Art on December 3, 2011 from los angeles, california, US Dana nailed the problem right on. Maytag is no longer a Company but merely a brand of Whirlpool Corporation so when you buy a Maytag, you are not buying a heritage Maytag product but a Whirlpool Product with a Maytag label on it. Pretty sad that another American icon was destroyed by Corporate greed.
7. Written by Dana on December 1, 2011 from overland park, kansas, US I have experienced the same problems with Maytag. My husband had to have them (dishwasher, stove, refrigerator, microwave). The problem is the company has changed hands. Also they made their name with a very small washer years ago which worked very well bc it couldn't be overloaded. Times have changed and I would not recommend these products to anybody. I have had problems.from every Maytag appliance I own.
8. Written by Greg on November 22, 2011 from flint, michigan, US I'm disappointed and a little surprised to hear this. I have a Maytag stove that is over 10 years old and honestly still works and looks like new. I did have to put a new igniter in the oven 2 or 3 years ago.
9. Written by Debbiedolittle on November 17, 2011 from douglasville, georgia, US Jad a may tag refrigerator and the ice maker went out before the first year. Had a may tag dishwasher it also messed up not sure what was wrong with it. Had a may rage washer and dryer and repairman fixed the washer once and dryer twice the lid switch kept going bad. I will never ever own another may tag product even if it was free.
