My Amana range was installed in January, 2002. It was only 3 years old when it first broke showing code F1.

I paid $254.02 to have the membrane p/n 316189B replaced. Since then, it has broken two more times; each time costing more than $250 to repair.

The repairman insists this part number is the only problem. This $1500 range has cost me over $500 in repairs and now it broke again.

This time, we had dinner guests and dinner was in the oven. The range started beeping and the display was jumping from clock to timer even though the timer was not set.

The oven shut off and would not stay on. We had to turn off the power to the range and order pizza for our guests. Up to now, I have paid over $500 in repairs and it needs to be repaired again.

My question is: What has Amana done to improve the quality of the part I have to replace so often? This is a problem Amana needs to address because it is apparent that the modules have serious issues.

I believe this model Amana range is a lemon and Amana should make good on repairing the range this time and in the future. Maybe then you will address the issue of defective modules.

I also have the same problem with my Amana range. It just beeps and beeps, F1 error. I have already replaced the module, which didn't fix it, now have to replace the membrane. I will also get the gaskets to cover the vent pipe this time. Also will be spending close to $500 and am doing the work myself. Amana should compensate or subsidize for the price of these parts!
