It took me 5 years to figure out that my washer was ripping our clothes! Not that our clothes are cheap or we are just really hard on them.

I called a tech to see if he could come up with a solution to why my clothes were coming out ripped and rubber burned instead of clean. He told me it is a design flaw and nothing needed to be fixed. There is a gap between the rubber gasket and the steel wash tub that rips clothes if they catch in the gap. Maytag said the only thing they could do was charge me for another tech to come out and tell me the same thing!

Who would think a washer would do this to clothes-even new jeans!!

Now I've had to pay for new clothes/sheets/jeans over the past 5 years and now I have to buy new machines after only 5 years!!! Whatever you do don't wait if you are having the same problem and don't buy Maytag and Whirlpool products!!!

Monetary Loss: $3000.

Location: Prescott, Arizona

Exact same scenario with my series 2000... probably $1000 in clothes lost...

Exact same problem with my Maytag 2000. Soooooo disappointed. Disgusted that they won't stand behind their product

We too have a maytag fontloading model series 2000. It has been a huge disappointment.

It has ruined numerous pieces of clothing. Maytag should make this right with their customers. Maytag was once synonymous with quality.

I now equate them to manufacturers of garbage. They are really ripping off consumers.

Same thing happening to me and my husband is blaming my loading technique. Not like I just started doing laundry in the past 6 months. I've been doing laundry for 35 years.

Same situation wit my Maytag front loader... It rips everything

Guest

yup i have a may tag front loader and it rips up sleeves and the sides of shirts. the only remedy for this is to use mesh bags when washing.

Our Maytag front loader does the exact same thing. I have lost shirts, a coat and some of my favorite baby clothes to this.

I was searching online for a fix and came across this.

Bummed that it is a design flaw, as our washer is only 3.5yrs old. Dang!

I have owned Bravos washer and dryer for approx 4 yrs and Never had 1 problem except for taking the time to read manual to find out the machines error codes. I love my machines and they do a fine job. I would buy another some day
