Maytag 40gal gas water heater

Maytag complaint by Freeportil

I purchased the above mentioned item for the first time from a local Farm and Fleet in IL. I had to purchase a new unit, as my old unit was leaking water all over the floor. I had a local plumber come and install the BRAND NEW unit. Guess what? Now my new unit is leaking all over the floor. The plumber tells me it is a defective unit, as the tapped area on top for the hot water flow wasn't done correctly at the factory. Farm and fleet will take this back, but it's up to Maytag to reimburse for any fees. It cost me $175 to have it installed, and Maytag will only reimburse me $100 for this!! RIDICULOUS. I don't know any plumber that would install a water heater for only $100. Now, I also have another $100 for the plumber coming out to tell me it's a warranty issue!

I thought Maytag had a better reputation than this?
