I bought a Maytag Neptune stacking washer dryer and I also bought an Extended Warranty. I found out that Maytag (the manufacturer) is NOT the same as the extended warranty company, although they use the Maytag name.

The rubber gasket around the door developed black mold and no cleaning product that I found could get it off. I called 866-212-9733 (the extended warranty repair center) and told them the problem. AT no time did they tell me that mold is NOT covered. When the tech came, I found out that the gasket is $100, plus labor and travel = $200 bill!!!

Maytag should use a rubber seal that doesn't sustain black mold. I think there should be a safety recall. Black mold is a health hazard.
